The client

BM Bespoke Joinery Ltd is run by Ben and his team from their workshop in Stoke-on-Trent. They make traditional timber joinery to order: bespoke sash windows, doors, kitchens and cabinetry, staircases, plus full installation. Their work goes into homes across Cheshire and North Staffordshire, from Wilmslow, Knutsford and Nantwich through to Leek and Congleton.

The problem

The business had no website at all. Every job came through word of mouth or their Instagram and Facebook pages, and while the work spoke for itself, there was nowhere to send a serious enquiry. A homeowner searching for bespoke sash windows or a handmade staircase in Cheshire would never find them, and social media profiles do not carry the weight that heirloom-quality joinery deserves. Craftsmanship at this level needed a proper home online.

What I did

I designed and built a brand new one-page website, and turned the whole thing around in 48 hours from brief to live.

A single-page build was the right call here. Everything a potential customer needs sits in one confident scroll: what BM make, proof of the work, what clients say, where they cover, and a form to request a free estimate. No thin filler pages, no navigation maze.

The design leans into the traditional craftsmanship angle rather than fighting it. Elegant serif details, warm imagery and a hero that leads with the promise: traditional craftsmanship, beautifully made for modern living. The portfolio section does the heavy lifting, a gallery of real finished jobs straight from the workshop, because in this trade the photos are the sales pitch.

There is also a dedicated locations section covering the towns they serve across Cheshire and North Staffordshire. That is not decoration. It gives Google clear local signals for the searches that matter, like bespoke joinery in Wilmslow or sash windows in Stoke-on-Trent.

Special functions

The enquiry form posts to my own client portal rather than a plugin. It is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which quietly blocks spam bots without making humans click through puzzle grids, and it shows a proper sending state and confirmation so customers know their estimate request went through. Every enquiry is emailed to Ben and stored as a backup.

Client reviews sit in a rotating two-up slider, all real reviews from real customers, which keeps the proof fresh without eating up half the page.

Under the bonnet, the site is tuned hard for performance and accessibility. Font loading, image priorities and layout shift were all optimised against Google PageSpeed, and the page uses proper ARIA roles and heading structure. The site is fully responsive, includes a privacy-first cookie consent banner with privacy and cookie policies built in, and runs on Cloudflare's edge network, so it is fast, secure and costs next to nothing to host.

The results

BM Bespoke Joinery went from invisible online to a live, professional website in two days. There is now a proper destination for word-of-mouth referrals, a link worth putting on a van, a business card or an Instagram bio, and a permanent shop window for the portfolio. The locations section gives the business its first real foothold in local search, and every estimate request now arrives through one reliable route instead of scattered DMs and missed messages.

The takeaway

Not every business needs a ten-page website, and going online does not have to take months. For a craftsman whose work sells itself, one well-built page with strong photography, genuine reviews and a frictionless enquiry form does the job properly. Forty-eight hours from brief to live, and a joinery business that had never had a website suddenly looks as good online as its work does in person.
